McFarland, 89 years young, of Forest Hills, went peacefully to be with her Lord on January 11, 2019. Olga was the beloved wife of 67 years to Howard R. McFarland, Jr. Olga and Howard had a beautiful loving relationship. They lived for and served each other and enjoyed life together.

They traveled extensively, including all over the continental United States, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Europe. They delivered Meals on Wheels in Wilkinsburg for many years. They also drove people to grocery stores for their weekly shopping needs.

Olga is the mother of Kenneth (Jacqueline) McFarland of Williamsburg, VA, Randall (Alice) McFarland of Green Tree, and Sandra Bizon of Allison Park; step-sister of Kathy (Willis) Voland and Carole Trakoval; grandmother of Jennifer (John) Smethurst, Lindsay (Jeff) Carico, Steven (Megan), Taylor, and Ashley Bizon, and Nicole McFarland; and great-grandmother of Anne and Rylee Smethurst. She also had many nieces and nephews. Olga enjoyed playing the piano and singing.

She graduated from Wilkinsburg High School with highest honors, worked for Koppers Company, and later retired from Woodland Hills School District. The family will welcome friends on Sunday, January 13th from 12-3 & 6-8 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, PA 15007. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3832 Gibsonia Road, Gibsonia, PA, 15044.

Burial will be private. Condolences may be offered at SchellhaasFH.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, tlcgibsonia.org, or the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org/pa.
