On August 29, 1927, Bill was born on the north side of Pittsburgh, one of 14 brothers and sisters. His brother Herbert (June) Zierenberg is the last living of his large, beloved family.

Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran who proudly served in WWII and loved to share stories of his service and accomplishments. Since a young age, Bill had always been a hard worker. After the service, he became a proud plumber for 40 years and belonged to the Plumbers Local Union 27.

Of his many accomplishments, his best life decision was marrying his still-living wife Margie. They were life-long friends ever since grade school and were together since the young age of 22. On June 16, 1951 he married the love of his life, sharing 67 unforgettable years together.

Until the day of his passing, their love grew stronger day by day. Bill’s gifts left to this world are his daughters Linda (Grant) Moule, Patricia (Eric) Weisner, and Barbara (Tony) Pitell. He shared a deep bond with his daughters as well as cherishing his beloved grandchildren Katherine, Cameron, William, and Elizabeth.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Upon retiring, Bill discovered his love for baking, and always made sure his family (especially son-in-law, Tony) had their favorite cookies made at all times. He had a passion for music (specifically Johnny Cash), playing the guitar, and sharing humorous stories.

Even though he had many passions in life, his favorite was his wife Margaret.
