Olin D. Barrett, 73, husband of the late Katherine Whyte Barrett, of Abbeville, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at his home. He was born in McCormick County to the late Tom and Kathleen Loftis Barrett. Olin, a 1963 graduate of Abbeville High School, honorably served in the U.S. Navy.

He was employed by Little River Co-op and retired after 37 years of dedicated service. Most mornings Olin could be found at Saxon’s for breakfast enjoying food and fellowship; he will be missed. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Morris Barrett and a sister, Bettye Barrett.

Olin is survived by his children, Paul Barrett and Debbie Barrett of Abbeville; a brother, Bradley Barrett of Columbia; two sisters, Doris Tynsky of Oklahoma and Lavinia ‘Tiny’ Davis (Horace) of Elberton, GA; seven grandchildren, Zachary and Balin Barrett, Chandler Stephens, J.T. (Amber), Conner, Cheyenne and Savanna McConnell; and a great-granddaughter, Anita Grace McConnell. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM – 11:30AM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Funeral services will begin on Saturday at 12:00Noon in the church.

Burial will follow in church cemetery. The family is at the home. Memorial contributions in memory of Olin may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
