Obituary of Ollie Mae Toomey: Ollie Mae Toomey, 72 of Laurel, DE and formerly of Sparta, Tennessee passed away at home in the care of her family on Monday, May 7, 2018. She was born on October 23, 1945 two the late Herman and Mary Conley Dilldine in Sparta, Tennessee. She married Walter F. Toomey and raised four daughters.

Mr. Toomey preceded Ollie in 2013 after 52 years of marriage. Mrs. Toomey retired from Townsend’s after serving on the Vaccination Crew. She loved watching “her stories” on TV, and was a homebody.

She loved to spend time with her family, but was definitely in charge of directing the cooking, was strong willed and “a real pistol”. All of it was in love as she was devoted to them all, as well as her beloved dog, “Rusty”. She is survived by daughters: Kathy Ann “Kat” Toomey and her companion, Jerry Miller, Sr., of Laurel; Ethel Mae “Ducky” Mitchell, of Millsboro; Lori “Boney” Hensley, and her husband Lonnie, of Laurel; and Theresa Jenkins, and husband Paul, Sr., of Georgetown.

Ollie is survived by two sisters, Peggy Klumb, of Archdale, NC and Treva Johnson, of Franklinville, NC. She has three brothers: Carl Dilldine, of Ashboro, NC; Charles Earl Dilldine, of Archdale, NC; and Harold Jean Dilldine, also of Archdale. There are eight grandchildren: Terry W. Toomey; Jerry W. Miller, Jr.; Carrie L. Toomey; Tracey M. Toomey, Misty L. Toomey, Mellisa A. Toomey; Paul A Jenkins, Jr. and Mindy S. Jenkins.

In addition, she has 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Interment and arrangements are private.
