Orpah Moore, 71, passed away on November 17, 2018 at Amherst Meadows Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Massillon, Ohio. She went home at 7:30 A.M., while surrounded by loved ones. Orpah was born to Mobley and Geneva Bryant on October 2, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio.

After high school she worked at a “mom and pop” grocery store in Weirton, WV where she grew up. Later she moved to Massillon and went to work for the YMCA as a housekeeper. A patron of the Y took notice of her work ethic and hired her to work at Meadow Wind Nursing Home before the facility was even completed or occupied.

She continued employment at Meadow Wind Nursing Home as a housekeeper for 23 years, before retirement. Some of her fondest memories were going to Sunday school in Weirton, WV where she grew up, fishing with Ward, entering a poetry competition in Florida and winning 4th place, along with getting a trophy and a $2000 award. Some of Orpah’s favorite things were writing poetry, publishing books, eating pizza (Kraus’s), the color purple and the Massillon Tigers!

Orpah was a very special person who loved God and walked in the peace of God’s Love by the way she was able to touch every person she ever met. She fully understood Unconditional Love and Forgiveness as the true pathway to God’s Promise of redemption for all of us. Preceded in death by both parents, also by siblings John Bryant and Betty Gillison.

Survived by husband of 48 1/2 years, Ward Moore, Sr.; children: Michael Smith (Dovonna), Christopher Smith (Karen), Ward Moore Jr., Sean Moore, and Sharynthia Confalone (Teddy); siblings: James Bryant (Jill), Doris Harris (Willie) and Katie Lavender; along with 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of family members, friends and acquaintances. Services will be held at Mount Calvary Baptist Church at 27 4th Street, N. E., Massillon, Ohio 44646 on Friday, November 23, 2018.
