Patricia Pat” V. Knudson, 79, Casselton, ND died on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Essentia Health, Fargo. Patricia Vivian Giermann was born on August 2, 1938 at Addison, North Dakota to William and Mary (Storm) Giermann. She attended Addison School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Casselton.

She attended Moorhead State receiving a Bachelor’s degree in teaching. On May 21, 1961 she was united in marriage to George Knudson at Martin’s Lutheran Church in Casselton. They made their home on a farm near Wheatland, ND.

Pat taught 5th and 6th grade at the Chaffee Elementary School until the school closed in 1993. She then taught at Central Cass until retiring in 2001. She was a substitute teacher for another 8 years and served 12 years on the Central Cass School Board.

Patricia has enjoyed traveling with her husband George. She was a member of Martin’s Lutheran Church in Casselton and the ND Retired Teacher’s Association. Patricia is survived by her husband George, of Casselton, sons Rory (Geri), of Showlow, AZ and Tony (Kristi), of Casselton, grandchildren: Logan, Tanner, and Dillon.

Other survivors include her brother Donald (Karen) Giermann, of Casselton and sister-in-law Marlys Giermann, of Fargo, ND. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brother Wayne “Corky” Giermann. Private family service will be he held at a later date at the Casselton Cemetery.
