Patricia Ann Eckonen age 82 of Conneaut died Friday December 21, 2018 at UH Geauga Medical Center, Chardon, Ohio. Patricia was born on December 25, 1935 the daughter of Cosmo and Alice Enstrom Vignal. She was a 1953 graduate of Conneaut High School.

She worked as an aide at Brown Memorial Hospital, a teller at the former Citizens Bank, the former Children’s Shop and Pelton’s in downtown Conneaut and later retired after 31 years from Conneaut Base Plant General Electric where she worked as Administrative Secretary to the Plant Manager. She was a member of South Ridge Baptist Church. Patricia enjoyed bowling, cooking, sewing, crypto quote and word search puzzles, board and card games.

She was also an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan throughout the years and loved 50’s and 60’s oldies music. Patricia especially loved and cherished the time she spent with her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Esther Vignal and brother Clyde Vignal.

Patricia is survived by her husband Richard M. Eckonen, whom she married December 4, 1954, daughters Rhonda and Jeff Cohen of Florida, Kathleen “Kathy” and Chuck Jacobs of Conneaut, son Joseph and Tina Eckonen of Conneaut, brother Bob and Coletta Vignal of Delaware, brother-in-law Tom and Diane Eckonen, grandchildren Chuck Jacobs, Nikki Jacobs and Tyler Harco, Aaron Kmecik and Zsharmia Page, Josh Korpar, Alitta Korpar, great grandchildren Alexia Jacobs, Devin Harco, Khloe Harco, Cora Turner Hillyer, Brendan Turner, Natalie Walker and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Hogle of South Ridge Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut. The family would like to express a thank you to healthcare professionals and emergency personnel that helped Patricia over the past few years. A very special thank you to Ashley and Mary for their care of Patricia at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Conneaut Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
