Patricia L. Sitzema, age 97, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019. She was born October 1, 1921 in Charlevoix, MI to Charles A. and Grace (Scott) Hyers and lived in the Muskegon area since 1941. On January 4, 1941, she married James Sitzema in Charlevoix and he preceded Patricia in death on December 4, 2006.

Prior to her retirement in 1983, Patricia worked over 30 years in the mailroom for Shaw-Walker Company. Survivors include her daughter, Nance Carlson; 2 grandchildren, Kris (William) Jeffries, Kyle (Stephanie) Carlson; 4 great-grandchildren, Trevor (Kiernan) Jager, Tristan (Lisa) Jager, Alyssa Wever, Kylee Carlson; 6 great-great-grandchildren, Tayden, Camden, Trenton, Leigha Jager, Liam and Audrey Wever; sister-in-law, Katherine Klooster; special friends, Herb and Mary Lou Humphries, Bill and Kathy Bowman, Ken Kendra, Howard and Marge Kerkstra, Serge and Laura Seiferlein, Loretta Olczyuk, Jean Hecksel, Roger and Laura St. Louis. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 1 son-in-law, DeWayne Carlson.
