Patricia Mary Houseknecht December 02, 1938 – December 17, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Patricia Mary Houseknecht, 80, of North Sherman Court, Hazleton, died Monday evening at the Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazle Township. Born in Beaver Meadows, December 2, 1938, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Perlinsky) Kulick and spent her entire life in the area. Patricia was a graduate of Hazleton High School and went on to study nursing at Luzerne County Community College.

In 1978 she volunteered with Hazleton Community Ambulance becoming the first female ambulance driver in the Hazleton/Wilkes Barre area. She loved animals; especially dogs, birds and cats and enjoyed volunteering with a dog rescue program. Her family was very important to her and whenever possible, Patricia loved spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents was her son Tommy Bogaczyk; brother Thomas Kulick and sisters Mary Atherholt and Evelyn Kulick. Patricia was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by son Edward Kulick of Hazleton; son James Houseknecht of Mocanaqua; daughter Pat Camillocci and her husband Anthony of Berwick; Bobbie Ann Delpino of West Hazleton; son Robert James Distefano and his wife Cheryl of Moscow; son George Thomas Houseknecht of Hazleton and granddaughter who Patricia raised as her own daughter, Sabrina Houseknecht. Also surviving are grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to gather at Calvary Cemetery in Drums for a Graveside service will be held Thursday, December 27 at 11:00 AM. Father Dan Schwebs will preside and offer final prayers of committal. Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family through their Hazle Chapel.
