Starr June 20, 1945 – March 08, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries Patricia L. ‘Pat’ (Swanson) Starr, 73, died March 8, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born June 20, 1945, in Salina, to Robert Lee and Lois Evelyn (Volak) Swanson and lovingly raised by Glen and Irene Carol Swanson. Pat graduated from Council Grove High School.

She retired as the Director of Elmdale 50+ Center and was an active volunteer in the community. She started the Prayer Bear Ministry at St. Teresa Catholic Church and Crochet Angels at Elmdale 50+ Center. Pat enjoyed crocheting, reading, and making greeting cards.

Pat was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson. Pat is survived by: daughters, Lois Cox and husband Jaran of Manhattan, Deia Starr Rank and husband Jerry of Overland Park; grandchildren, Emily and Abby Cox and Quillan, Baylor, and Gable Rank; brother, Gary Swanson; sisters, Anita Eden, Patsy Menning; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom Pat loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gene Swanson.

Rosary will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2019, with her funeral to follow, both at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Council Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Patricia L. Starr Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
