Obituary for Patricia “Pat” Roach Patricia “Pat” Roach, 87, of West Hartford passed peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019 surrounded by her loving sons. She is now reunited with Bob, her beloved husband of 43 years. Pat was born in New Haven on July 29, 1931, daughter of the late Walter and Anne (Brennan) Twomey.

Pat lived in Connecticut all her life where she originally worked as a supervisor at SNET before marrying Bob and beginning a family in East Granby. They relocated to West Hartford where they raised their two sons. She worked at The Children’s Museum and St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford.

After retiring, she was an active volunteer in her community at The House of Bread and Hartford Stage. Pat and Bob spent many years at their home on Cape Cod; tending to her flower garden, daily walks to the landing and hosting friends and family in their lovely home. They also traveled extensively throughout Europe with friends for many years following Bob’s retirement.

Pat leaves two sons and their families, R. David Roach, Jr., his wife Kelly and their two sons Robert and Christian of Burlington, CT and Christopher Brennan Roach, his wife Kathryn and their two sons Benjamin and Matthew of West Hartford. She also leaves her sisters and brother and their families, Mary and Richard Reynolds of Branford, Maggie Addison of Newington, Thomas and Saralyn Twomey of Haddam. Pat leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her brother John Twomey. She also cherished her many close friends and neighbors, some of whom she knew for more than 60 years. This includes friends from water aerobics (“The Waterlilys”), book, garden, and dinner clubs, volunteer groups and prayer shawl ministry.

Calling hours for Pat will be held on Friday, January 25, from 5 to 8 pm at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Funeral services will be the following day at 10 a.m. Rite of Christian Burial at St. Timothy’s Church, 1116 North Main Street, West Hartford. Burial will be immediately following at Riverside Cemetery, 160 Garden Street, Farmington.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the House of Bread, 1453 Main Street, Hartford, 06120. The family would like to extend special thanks to Cindy Ebanks and the caregivers at New England Nightingales for the loving care they gave Pat over the last several years. Jean, Paulette, Ruth, Carol and Donna, and all others, you were a blessing to our family and Pat.
