Obituary of Patricia Foley Patricia McGillicuddy Foley, 57, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2018 in her parent’s summer home in Misquamicut, Rhode Island. Born in Bridgeport on July 27, 1961, she attended the University of Rhode Island where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Communications degree and continued her education to earn both a Masters of Science in Health Education and 6th Year Degree Language Arts Consultant. Patricia started her career at St. Margaret-McTernan School in Waterbury and then at Unquowa School in Fairfield as an educator.

She then worked as a Reading and Language Arts Consultant at Bridgeport Public Schools, an Adjunct Professor at Southern Connecticut State University, and a Language Arts and Education Consultant at the Connecticut State Department of Education. Most recently, she was working in Norwalk as Director of School Improvement. Her dedication to the field of education was her lifelong passion.

Most importantly, Patricia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was married to her husband, Timothy Foley of Trumbull for 33 years. She loved and adored her family, especially her three daughters.

Her grandson, Ryan, was the light of her life and she was anxiously awaiting her newest grandchild due in December. In addition to her husband, Tim, she leaves behind her daughter, Erin Foley Tobitsch, and her husband, Steven of Trumbull, and their son Ryan, daughter, Christine Foley, and her boyfriend, Patrick Mihai, of Manhattan, New York, and daughter, Katie Foley, of Trumbull. She also leaves behind her mother, Joan McGillicuddy, of Fairfield, her brother, Steve McGillicuddy, of Fairfield, her brother, Brian McGillicuddy, and his wife, Celeste, of Trumbull, and her sister, Cathy McGillicuddy, and her wife, Marikate Murren of Enfield, as well as, several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Thomas McGillicuddy. Patricia loved talking for hours with loved ones, sunny days and sunsets at her family’s favorite beach in Rhode Island, and her morning cup of coffee delivered by her husband. She will be greatly missed by the many who loved her.

Calling hours will take place on Sunday from 3 to 7 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road in Fairfield center. Friends are invited to join her family for a prayer service on Monday at 11:30 AM in the Penfield Pavilion, 323 Fairfield Beach Road, with the Reverend Charles Allen, S.J. officiating.
