Obituary for Patrick Joseph “Rusty” Green Green, Patrick J. “Rusty” of Saginaw, Michigan Went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at St. Mary’s of Michigan with his family by his side. He was 72 years old. Patrick Joseph Green was the last of four children born to the late Roy James and Kathryn Ann (McInerney) Green on September 11, 1945.

He was a proud 1963 graduate of St. Mary High School. Following graduation, Rusty began working for Eaton Manufacturing. He honorably served his country for two years in the United States Army.

Following his service, Rusty returned to work for Eaton Manufacturing; retiring after 30 years of service. He married the love of his life, Susan Kay Smalley on July 11, 1970 in Saginaw at St. Mary’s Cathedral; she survives him. Rusty was a faithful man and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

He loved all of his family very much and his absence will leave a large hole in the hearts he’s left behind. Rusty loved his grandchildren fiercely and went out of his way to have a special relationship with each and every one of them. He will forever be remembered for his one on one conversations and more importantly for his funny ways.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Susan Kay Green of Saginaw; three sons: David Green and his fiancée, Frances Dreeling of Saginaw, Robert Green of Saginaw and Kevin Green of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Andrew, Lexi, Lauren, Brynn and Ciara; one brother and two sisters: Richard M. (Barbara) Green of Saginaw, Mary (Bill) Herzog of Saginaw and Judi Neering of Esville; two brothers-in-law: Daniel (Mary Ann) Smalley of Sabastian, FL and Mark (Nancy) Smalley of Saginaw; and one sister-in-law: Kathy (Paul) Hudson of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews whom Rusty held close to his heart. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy J. Green, Jr.; a sister, Mary Louise Swindell.

FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave. Rev. Fr.

Thai Nguyen and Deacon Roger Passionek will officiate. Honoring Patrick’s wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: There will be no formal visitation prior to the beginning of the service.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Family Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).
