OBITUARY Paul Clayton Pulliam October 12, 1967 – August 28, 2018 Paul Clayton Pulliam, age 50, passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Alabama on August 28, 2018. He was born in Martinsville, VA. His family moved to Richmond when Paul was eight.

Paul considered Richmond home for most of his life. He was the only child of Jude Lane (Turner), Powhatan, VA formally Collinsville, VA and the late Charles C. “Buddy” Pulliam of Eden, NC. He was the only and much beloved grandson of the late Mr. & Mrs. W. Paul Turner of Collinsville and Mr. & Mrs. Charles C. Pulliam of Eden, NC.

Left to mourn his sudden passing are his beloved mother, Jude Lane, his uncle William L. Turner (Linda), cousin, Laurie M. Turner of Martinsville, VA. His half sisters, Tracy Ellis, Jennifer Thill and Ashley Pulliam, nieces Breanna and Lexie, and nephews Brandon and Skyler of Eden, NC. Paul was a 1986 graduate of Midlothian HS where he participated in sports but specialized in socializing.

After, he attended Louisburg College in NC where he made lifelong friends that he remained close with until his death. Though Paul never had a brother, he considered his four best friends “brother by another mother”. Danny Murphy, VA, Damon Frazee, NC, Rusty Prater, AL and Rev.

John Sawyer, VA. He would have gladly laid down his life for his brothers. Paul had successful careers in restaurant management and sales.

Over the most recent five years, he excelled in the Furniture industry. Paul lived a life full of passion and adventure. He was an avid fan of all sports, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide, Miami Dolphins, UNC Basketball and Chicago Cubs.

In his youth he had NBA Michael Jordan envy! Paul’s legacy in this life was one of quick wit, kindness and generosity of spirit. He was legendary among his friends and family for keeping people in belly laughs.

He never met a stranger and managed to make everyone feel special. It truly was a gift. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday September 8 at 3pm at Bon Air Baptist Church – Buford Rd Campus 2531 Buford Rd.

Richmond, VA. A visitation will be held on the same day from 1:30pm – 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to, first Bridging RVA (BridgingRVA.com) who provides new beds for children without a bed of their own.

It was Paul’s heart & joy to be part of this every year. American Heart Assoc. , Diabetes Research Fund along with St. Jude’s are others we request.
