Paul Dean Merchant, 78, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Northpointe Woods. He was born on May 22, 1940, the son of Luther Merchant and Edith Christine (Heard) Brown. Dean graduated from Battle Creek Central High School.

He was previously employed at American Woodcraft, Plastic Craft and most recently enjoyed working for himself as a wood worker and cabinet maker. Dean was a member of the MI National Guard, and the Church of Christ. Dean is survived by his Sister, Shirley (Jeff) Williamson and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Luther Merchant, Mother, Edith Christine Brown and Sister, Barbara Ann Woodworth. Dean enjoyed repairing antique furniture, woodworking, hunting, fishing, painting, and shooting archery. He won many First place archery awards.
