Before that he had worked for Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky for 11 years. For hobbies he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Indians, Browns and the OSU basketball and football.

Ed also enjoyed his afternoon trips of “road farming”, talking and trading stories and tall tales with fellow farmers and friends, helping his daughters in earlier years with their 4-H projects and watching animal shows at the fairs, and traveling with Reda to Hawaii, Amish country, and trips to the casinos. Ed, even though retired, continued to watch, read, and learn anything and everything about agriculture and livestock, along with reading the newspaper every night.
