Paul R. Mitchell, Sr. 80 of Steubenville died Tuesday at Trinity West ER. He was born October 12, 1937 in Wellsburg. He is the son of the late Eugene and Betty Toner Mitchell, Paul is also preceded in death by his wife Helen Beato Mitchell, and an infant son, David Lee Mitchell.

Paul was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and was a member of Local 1190 Steelworkers Union. He was also a US Army Veteran. Surviving are his son, Paul R. (Fiancé, Holly Clifton) Mitchell, Jr. and his daughter, Jerri Shaffer both of Wellsburg.

Three brothers, Eugene “Gene” (Peggy) Mitchell, Earl “Duke” (Marylynn) Mitchell, and Ralph (Saundra) Mitchell all of Wellsburg. One sister, Rose (Charles) Dawson of Wellsburg. Two grandchildren, Jamie and Bella Shaffer.

Paul was an avid NY Yankees and WVU Mountaineers fan. Calling hours are Saturday at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 10:00 am until the time of services at Noon, Pastor David Shores, will officiate and burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
