Butler, 77, of Lavaca, Arkansas passed away January 24, 2019 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born December 20, 1941, in Charleston, Arkansas to the late Clifford and Fruella (Smith) Sykes. She was a banker and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, Arkansas.

She was in the women’s ministry at First Southern Baptist Church, volunteered at Mercy Hospital, loved music and playing the organ and piano for her church congregations. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett Butler. She is survived by one son Eddie Butler and wife Kris of Charleston, Arkansas; one daughter Pam Lundquist and husband Tim of Central City, Arkansas, two brothers Arnold Sykes and wife Linda of Dallas, Texas, Mitch Sykes of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one sister Brenda Mitchell of Denver, Colorado; one sister-in-law Cheryl of Ft.

Smith, Arkansas; five grandchildren Lauren Ruff and husband Kendall, Brittany Butler, Hollie Butler, Kaylee Butler, and Logan Lundquist. Paula was more often referred to as “Nana” by the greatest loves in her life: her children and grandchildren. She loved baking chocolate chip cookies for family and friends and always reminded everyone to make each day a happy one.

Paula’s children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of her kind , self-less spirit, passion for her music, Razorback sports, and faith in God will live through them. She was loved and respected by her co-workers and colleagues throughout the area.

Her infectious smile will be missed by all family and friends that adored her. Funeral Service will be held Monday January 28, 2019 at 10:00 Am at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, Arkansas. Family will greet friends Sunday January 27, 2019 form 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Lewis Roberts Funeral Chapel in Lavaca, Arkansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Ministry at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City.
