Born February 28, 1922, in Sorum, South Dakota, the daughter of Foss E. and Margaret W. (Jones) Simonds. Graduated from Rockford Central High School.

Married Eugene C. Hommema on February 28, 1942, in Huntsville, Alabama. Employed 14 years for Electrolux in Rockford and 16 years for Jack E. Puckett, Sr., as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1984. Longtime member of Riverside Community Church.

Pauline and Gene enjoyed traveling across the United States and spent winters in Florida for 19 years. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Darleen Simonds of Beloit, Wisconsin; nephew, Gary (Carol) Simonds of Gainesville, Florida; nieces, Sandra (Jim) Norgart of Rockford, Nancy Ferguson of Poplar Grove and Joanne (Allen) Thompson of Pecatonica; and dear friends, Lynn Alberts, Brenda Mullins and Gail Rotello. Predeceased by her parents; husband; and brother, Donald Simonds.

Service at 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, in Riverside Community Church, 6816 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
