Obituary for Peggy Ann Cuthbertson Funeral service for Peggy Ann Cuthbertson was 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 1st Christian Church; burial followed at 3:00 p.m., at Girard City Cemetery, Girard, Kansas. Peggy passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018. She was 80 years old.

Peggy Ann Kious was born to Joe and Ivah Kious on August 2, 1937 in Hennesey, Oklahoma. She and her family moved to Girard, Kansas in 1951, where she met and later married Billy Ray Shanholtzer on June 26, 1955. Three children were born to this union, Donald Ray Shanholtzer, Pamela Ann Robertson, and Darrell Ray Shanholtzer.

They moved to Afton, Oklahoma in 1960, and to Chelsea in 1965, where they joined the First Christian Church of Chelsea and were active in the community. Peggy was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Bill and Peggy divorced in 1975, and she continued to make her home in Chelsea, working at the Rogers County Court Clerk’s office to support her children.

In 1987 she married her long time friend, Marvin George Cuthbertson, and moved back to Girard, Kansas. Marvin passed away in February of 2007 and Peggy returned to Chelsea to be close to her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ivah Kious, sisters Patsy Ann Kious and Leona Mae Long, and husband Marvin George Cuthbertson.

God and family came first in her life, and family included her beloved yorkie, Peanut. Peggy is survived by her children; Donald Shanholtzer and wife Patricia of Whidbey Island, Washington, Pamela Robertson and husband Neal of Chelsea, Darrell Shanholtzer and wife Rene’ also of Chelsea, Sue O’Toole and husband Steve, Cindy Ferguson and husband Steve, Scott Cuthbertson and wife Julie, all of Girard, Kansas; granddaughters Shana Hubbard, Holli Adkins and husband Stephen, Brittney Abbott and husband Craig, Kristen O’Toole and Kelli Cuthbertson; grandsons Christopher Shanholtzer and wife Myola, Lewis Manning II and wife Katrina, Darrin Shanholtzer and wife Ashley, Darrell Shanholtzer II and wife Whitney, Brandon Robertson, Bradley Robertson and wife Amanda, Daniel Robertson and wife Payton, Nicolas O’Toole and wife Audrey, Nolan O’Toole, Cole Cuthbertson, and AJ Cuthbertson; twenty-seven great- grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; her brother Bill Kious and wife Gail of Enid; sisters Linda Hodgen and husband Bill of Durant, and Myrna Hershberger of Girard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
