Peter Gutwein, age 89, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019. He was born February 19, 1929 in Yugoslavia, son of the late Johann and Katharina Gutwein. Peter was a member of the German American Club in Olmsted Falls, OH.

He enjoyed bowling on a league at the club and in his younger years, he and his wife played on a couple’s league. He also loved playing cards. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.

He was the devoted husband of 62 years to Susanne Gutwein (nee Kerth); beloved father of Peter (Eva) Gutwein Jr. and Ingrid (Walter) Klump; cherished grandfather of Walter (Heidi) Klump, Peter Gutwein III, Danielle (Brad) Hardy, and Christopher (Jessica) Klump; loving great grandfather of Nolan Klump, Julia Hardy, Hannah Klump, and Connor Klump; caring brother of the late John (the late Mary) Gutwein; dear brother-in-law of many in Germany. Visitation will take place Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 1PM – 5PM in the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd. , North Olmsted, OH 44070 where funeral service will commence on Monday at 10AM.

Memorial contributions in Peter’s name are suggested to National Stroke Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, 43214.
