Philip Oliver Hackelton of Suitland Maryland passed away at his home on March 19, 2019 at the age of 83. Devoted husband for 59 years of Joan Canard Hackelton; beloved father of Michael Hackelton (Rebekah), Richard Hackelton (Michelle); loving grandfather of Wesley, Amanda, Nicole, Alissa, Bradley and Brian. Mr. Hackelton was a brave veteran of our country, a hard-working government servant and a faithful Christian servant of his church.

A passion of his in early adulthood was skating, for which he won awards, including the most important one of all, the love of his life, Joan. It was at a skating rink where they first met in 1959. Mr. Hackelton was an amateur duckpin bowler and enjoyed time spent with his family going fishing, camping, movies and dining at various restaurants.
