Obituary for Phillip Grant Miller Phillip Grant Miller, age 61, was born in El Dorado, Kansas on June 2, 1957 to Harry and Maxine (Andrew) Miller. He died peacefully at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma on March 18, 2019. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cassoday United Methodist Church in Cassoday, Kansas Phillip’s fond childhood memories growing up in rural Cassoday include fishing and camping with numerous family members.

He attended Cassoday Grade School and graduated with the class of 1975 from Flinthills High School in Rosalia, Kansas. His hobbies included his love of cats, NASCAR, and, in his younger days, bowling. Phillip was employed by Carrier Ditching and Excavating in Stillwater, Oklahoma for the past 34 years.

On March 1, 1985 Phillip married Diane Durham and welcomed her three children into his family. Members of his family include his children, Rick Miller, Joshua Miller, Melissa Miller and Holly (Ryan) Kierstead; grandchildren Blake Scott, Dylan Kierstead, Hailey Kierstead and Lilly Kierstead; sisters, Karol McLaren, and her husband Jim; Karen Karsten and her husband Richard; sister-in-law, Kathy Miller Leach; uncles and aunts Calvin and Marlene Hinde, Ramona Unruh, and Junior and Ruth Miller; 8 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews and eight cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Craig Miller.

His children remember fondly helping their dad build numerous “projects” around the house, teaching them that hard work can build anything their mind could imagine. Those wishing to honor Phillip’s memory may do so by contributing to the Diabetes Foundation (in memory of Maxine Miller), the Lymphoma Society (in memory of Harry Miller) or Cassoday United Methodist Church.
