Mrs. Phyllis Irene Milam, age 83, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Surry Community HR. She was born on March 19, 1935 to Braxton McKee Darnell and Mamie Ethel Hodge Darnell Mrs Milam will be missed and will leave cherished memories with her love ones, sons; Larry Lee Lambert, Les Lane Lambert, daughter; Lisa Lane Lambert, step-daughter; Sandra Kay Shrewsbury, sister; Ruth Worrell, two grandchildren; Amanda (Robert) Sparks, Angela (Nathan) Holt, nine great-grandchildren; Allen, Dylan, Nolyn, Korbyn, Aubrey, Zayden, Keelee, Leelan and Mikah. three step-grandchildren; Travis, Cody, Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thomas Milam, parents; Braxton McKee Darnell and Mamie Ethel Hodge Darnell, brothers; James Darnell, Braxton McKee Darnell, Jr., Eugene Darnell, John Darnell, Bob Darnell, Howard Darnell, sisters; Stella Mullings, Mary Kelly, Marie Deweese, Loraine Porter and Ethel Farley. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at True Word Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor David Joyce officiating. Interment will follow immediately after service at True Word Baptist Church Cemetery.
