Phyllis Jane Kenny April 23, 1939 – May 24, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Phyllis Kenny, 80, of Hecla, SD, passed away May 24, 2019 at Sanford Hospital, Aberdeen, SD. Phyllis Jane Day, daughter of Frank and Rosalind (Henjum) Day was born April 23, 1939 at Oakes, ND. She grew up and attended school in Oakes, graduating from Oakes High School in 1957.

She was united in marriage to Allan Kenny on August 10, 1960 at Houghton, SD. They lived in Granite City, IL for a short time, before returning to the Kenny family farm near Hecla. In 1970, they moved into Hecla.

Phyllis loved caring for her cats. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Allan; three sisters, Diane (Paul) Yager, Eden Prairie, MN, Elaine (Lloyd) Just, Aberdeen, SD and Linda (Dan) Larson, Bismarck, ND; two brothers, Charles (Sally) Day, Dundas, MN and Denny Day, Aberdeen, SD; and several nieces & nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Janice Claudy and an infant brother, Duane.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by her funeral at 10:30 a.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes, ND. Burial will be at Oakes View Cemetery near Oakes.
