Obituary of Phyllis Hohenshell Phyllis Ann Hohenshell, age 91, a long time resident of Joliet, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2018 at the Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County. Born October 21, 1927 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Alice (nee Corrigan) Hohenshell, both of whom were music teachers and professional musical performers throughout their lives, as was Phyllis. Having graduated from what is now the University of St. Francis, Joliet, in 1948, Phyllis performed frequently on the piano and organ and sang with local orchestras for many years.

At one time, she was the featured musical entertainer for a major New Orleans night club. She also taught piano lessons to local students. She was a former Trustee of Local 37 of the American Federation of Musicians.

Funeral services for Phyllis Ann Hohenshell will be held privately and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Pontiac. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of her arrangements. For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.
