Portia Rebecca “Becky” Sheppard Elliott, 80, of Hendersonville passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Hendersonville Health and Rehab. Born February 10, 1939 in Bradenton, FL, she was a daughter of the late Walter Raleigh Sheppard Sr. and Bonnie McCloud Sheppard. She graduated from Hendersonville H.S. and then went on to receive an A.S, degree from Gardner Webb University and attended Western Carolina University.

In 2013, she retired from Walmart. Becky was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, and had many hobbies which included Jazz singing, modeling, and crafts. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, William Sheppard, Diane Miller, and Walter Sheppard Jr. Surviving are her son, Samuel Christopher Elliott and his spouse, Kelly, of Hendersonville; brother, Lamar Sheppard and his spouse, Dawn, of Boone; grandchildren, Thomas Graydon Elliott and Riley Elizabeth Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the chapel of Asheville Area Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
