Homer Glenn Dalton June 09, 1921 – May 29, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Homer Glenn Dalton, 97 years of age, and a resident of Wellington, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Metro Healthcare in Cleveland following a full and meaningful life. He was born June 9, 1921, in his family home in Wakeman. Homer was raised in Wakeman and had lived there for the majority of his life before moving to Wellington in 2004 where he had resided until his passing.

Homer was an active member of Camden Baptist Church in Wellington for sixty years. He was an active attendee at Maranatha Baptist Church in Sebring, Florida. He owned and operated the family dairy farm HS Dalton & Sons where he continued to work into his 80’s.

Homer was employed as a bus driver with the Western Reserve School District for twenty years and the Ohio Turnpike as a toll-collector for sixteen years. His hobbies included bee keeping. Homer could also be found serving along side his wife volunteering at Camp Patmos.

Survivors include his children Homer “Skip” (Angela) Dalton of Wakeman, Dennis (Jean) Dalton of LaGrange, Bertha “Bert” (Ron) Simonson of Wellington and Glenda (Don) Hilliker of Wellington, and Kathleen (Keith) Church of London, Ohio; twenty-one grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and his brother in law Harry E. Wright of Huron; his sister Christena Johannsen of Medina He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years Edith L. Dalton (nee: Wright) on July 5, 2015; his brothers Byron, Elmer, George, Bill and Harry; his sisters Marie Wagner, Hazel Gibbs; and his parents Henry S. and Ina Mae Dalton (nee: Hill) and his step mother Bertha E. Dalton. Friends may call Monday, June 3, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. Until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Camden Baptist Church; 17901 St. Rt. 511, Wellington.

The Rev. Larry Nocella, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Wakeman Cemetery, Wakeman, Ohio.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Camp Patmos, 920 Monagan Road, Kelley’s Island, OH, 43438.
