Rachel Laquerre, 87, of Nashua, died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at her residence in Nashua. A lifelong resident of Nashua, she was born January 9, 1932, daughter of the late William and Rose (Gaudreau) Dumas. Rachel was also predeceased by three sons, William Laquerre, Robert Laquerre, and Richard Laquerre as well as by three sisters and a brother.

Rachel was the beloved wife of Roger Laquerre of Nashua with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. Rachel was a devote Catholic who enjoyed sewing, reading, card games, swimming, and cooking delicious meals for family and friends. She lived most of her life in Hudson NH where she raised her children while also working as a waitress, nanny, bridal store clerk and medical receptionist.

She enjoyed 19 years of retirement in Florida where she and her husband traveled, golfed, and had an active social life with friends. She also spent many wonderful summers at Hampton Beach with her family. Her greatest love in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Her family was her pride and joy. Besides her devoted husband Roger, her family includes one son, James Laquerre and his wife Ellen of Merrimack, NH, two daughters, Linda Tobin of Hampton, NH, and her former husband Stephen Tobin of Exeter, NH, Karen McLavey and her husband David of Hudson, nine grandchildren, Jessica Tobin, Lauren Laquerre, Brian McLavey, Colleen Tobin, Sara Ziegra, Kaitlin Gallagher, Julie Staib, Andrew McLavey, and Amanda Laquerre, four great grandchildren, Meyer Gallagher, Libby Gallagher, Henry Ziegra, and Benjamin Staib, as well as two daughters in law, LuAnn Laquerre of Hudson and Robin Laquerre of Nashua. Also, several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 28th at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road in Nashua. All may meet at church in time for Mass. Burial will be held in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Nashua.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made in Rachel’s loving memory to Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Dr., Merrimack, NH 03054.
