Zelda’s Obituary Zelda M. Bailey Townsend, age 63, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. She is the daughter of Doretha V. Bailey and the late John Bailey Sr., and the beloved wife of Danny Townsend. Step-mother of Irian Townsend, Dominique Townsend, and Kimberly Townsend.

Grandmother of David and Dylan Shields. Sister of Lynette M. Nelson (Fred), Stephen Bailey (Leona), and Terry Bailey (Julia). Sister-in-law of Lonnie Townsend (Wanda) and the late Theresa Sylvester (Ernest).

She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors and members of Enlighten Fellowship Church, employees of Danny’s Divine Design, the Orleans Parish School Board, and Vigilant Protective Service are all invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration on Friday, May 17, 2019 for 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 2114 Reverend Richard Wilson Dr., Kenner, LA 70062. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Darryl Phoenix, officiating.

Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. , New Orleans, LA 70124.
