Amy Hicks Carr May 04, 1944 – May 11, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Amy Hicks Carr, 75, of New Orleans, LA, went to be with the Lord at 9:00PM, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, where she was surrounded by family and friends. She was born May 4, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Dorothy LaBostrie Black and the late Amos Hicks. Amy is the older of 2 children.

She is survived by her son Tyrone Miller Sr. of New Orleans, LA, (guardian of) D’wann Dunbar of Palestine, TX, Grandson, Tyrone Miller, Jr (Stephanie) of Houston, TX, Granddaughter Amy Miller of Houston, TX, and great granddaughter Ty’Riana Miller of Houston TX along with a host of other relatives and friends. Amy worked over 30 years in the banking industry, notably Hibernia National Bank of New Orleans where she retired. After her retirement she became a Home Health Care specialist.

She is proceeded in death by her mother, Dorothy LaBostrie Black, her father Amos Hicks, her sister Gwendolyn Dunbar, her nephew Jimmy Tyrone Dunbar. A Memorial Service will be held at Majestic Mortuary 1833 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. , New Orleans, LA, on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM.

Officiating the service will be Reverend Albert C. Mickel of Macedonia Church, 1219 Cohen Marrero, LA. Professional Services entrusted to Majestic Mortuary (504)523-5872.
