OBITUARY Raymond Arlen Prejean April 21, 1930 – October 7, 2018 Raymond Arlen Prejean of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2018, at the age of 88. He was born April 21, 1930, to Alton Prejean and Elizabeth Wilson Prejean in Opelousas, Louisiana. Raymond served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War.

After his return, Raymond married the love of his life, Barbara, with the two spending the next 62 years together. Raymond’s multiple talents led him to several careers in his life, but his favorite was his last, that of arson investigator for the city of New Orleans. For many years, he was a parishioner at St. Rita in New Orleans; after his move to Slidell, he was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara Prejean; his son, Garrick Prejean; his sisters-in-law Sandra Judge Mepham, husband Charlie, and son Jason of Los Angeles, and Marie Judge and daughter Lisa of New Orleans; his brother-in-law William Judge, wife Carol, and daughter Elizabeth of Phoenix; his cousin Jude Darensbourg and wife Vicki of Colorado Springs; his Goddaughter Charlita Hayes of New Orleans; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alvin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd.
