Obituary for Raymond Earl “Ray” Ludwig Jr. Raymond Earl “Ray” Ludwig, Jr., age 69 of Clarkesville, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on September 14, 1948, he was a son of the late Raymond Earl, Sr. and Hazel Rena Fennell Ludwig. Mr. Ludwig was a carpenter with Ryals Construction.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Ludwig was family oriented and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, playing golf, gardening, watching the Atlanta Braves and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a member of Oakey Mountain Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are his wife, Gail Gerrell Ludwig of Clarkesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason & Heather Evers of The Rock, Georgia, Micah & Crystal Ludwig of Clarkesville and Ray, III & Paige Ludwig of Lula; daughters and sons-in-law, Misty & Eric Walst of Netherlands Holland and Larissa & Matthew Gragg of Alto; brother, Roger Dale Ludwig of Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda & Jerry Sullins of Demorest, Cyndi Petty of Toccoa and Cathy & Derrick Dodd of Hartwell; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Brion Williams officiating.

Interment will follow in Oakey Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. An online guest register is available and may be viewed at www.
