Raymond Gersich, age 70, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2018. He is survived by two brothers Dennis and Edward (Ruth Naag) Gersich; two sisters Kathy and Sharon (Chuck) Hjerpe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Mildred (Svetin) Gersich.

Raymond attended Joliet Central High School (1966) and Joliet Junior College. He served in the Navy for 4 years and was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He worked for various computer repair companies.

Ray enjoyed building models and loved animals. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting local bars to visit with fellow veterans. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Joliet. The family requests that you come as you are, dressed warm and comfortably.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the Diasbled American Veterans, the Red Cross or your favorite charity in Raymond’s name would be appreciated.
