OBITUARY Raymond “Ray” R. Cafolla August 11, 1922 – October 17, 2018 Raymond Cafolla, 96, of Centerville, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Peace Dale, RI to his late parents, Nick and Magdalena (Nigrelli) Cafolla. Ray was the beloved husband of the late Ann (Scaramuzzo) Cafolla (1995).

Ray and Ann bought a summer home on the Cape in Centerville in 1957 and moved there fulltime from Roslindale, MA in 1969. Ray worked as a bartender at the Sheraton Hyannis until 1972 when he, along with his partner, Dan Barfoot, opened the Swamp Fox. They also opened another Hyannis nightclub, Players, in 1979.

He thoroughly enjoyed his nightclub businesses which he successfully ran from 1972-1983. After leaving the nightclubs, Ray tended bar at East Bay Lodge in Osterville until he retired in 1989. Ray was an avid New England sports fan.

He also enjoyed his circle of friends and their Saturday night outings. Ray is survived by his loving daughter Donna, her husband Scott Quilter of Centerville and his adored granddaughter, Amy Nomejko of Belmont, MA. Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, October 23rd 6-8 p.m. at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Friends and family will gather at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24th. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. and burial will immediately follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery on Pine Street in Centerville, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, www.
