Raymond Robert Kruse November 25, 1926 – March 13, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Raymond Robert Kruse, 92, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away March 13, 2019. He was born at home in rural Buffalo Center, Iowa to Robert and Minnie (Mayland) Kruse on November 25th, 1926. He attended country school through the 8th grade.

Shortly after starting his freshman year, it was necessary for Ray to leave school to go work on the family farm. In 1951 he was drafted into the US Army, he was deployed to serve in the Korean conflict but because of an incident on the ship he was diverted to Japan to serve in the weapons pool. He was honorably discharged in 1957.

On March 20th, 1953 Ray married Arlene Stohr in rural Titonka, Iowa. Ray & Arlene shared 66 years of marriage. This loving union was blessed with 2 sons; Galen and Gregory; and later Ray & Arlene adopted their daughter Carol.

Ray lived and farmed in rural Titonka, Iowa and in 1963 Ray moved his family to a farm site in rural Okabena, MN where he raised corn, soybeans, dairy and beef cattle and other livestock. Ray served on the Okabena, MN Elevator Board of Directors, was the Treasurer of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a 59 year member of the Okabena Legion Post #608 of which he also served as commander. Ray was also involved in Bella Vista Community Church service projects including Havenwood and Men in Action.

After Ray’s retirement from farming in 1987, Ray & Arlene moved to Bella Vista, AR where Ray enjoyed golfing and in later years, woodworking. His family will enjoy his many furniture pieces for many years to come. Ray is survived by his wife Arlene; sons Galen (Lori) Kruse of Heron Lake , MN, Gregory ( Kristine) Kruse of Okabena, MN and daughter Carol (Wayne) Linscheid of Butterfield, MN; sister Wilhelmine Janssen of Grenada,MN; sister-in-law Caroline Kruse of Algona, IA; grandchildren Levi (Charlene) Kruse currently stationed in San Diego, CA; Kelsey (Dan) Schafer of Owatonna, MN and Brandon Linscheid of Mankato, MN; great-grandchildren Jayden Post of Mankato, MN, Aria & Drayton Schafer of Owatonna, MN and Keanin & Landon Linscheid of Mt.

Lake, MN along with many niece’s, nephews, cousins and friends. Ray is preceded in death by his parents; brother Willie Kruse; sister & brother-in-law Katherine & Dick Meinders; brother-in-law Ernie Janssen; grandchildren Gavin Kruse, Karissa Kruse and baby Linscheid and great-grandson Prestin Linscheid. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. with memorial services following at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16th at Bella Vista Community Church.
