Raymond “Sonny” Bartels, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2019. He was born on January 10, 1934 to the late William “Beetle” Espey and Molly Espey. Raymond is the loving brother of Gloria (the late James) Hogarty, Marlyn (Dwayne) Knott, the late Ronald (the late Charlotte) Bartels, and Sharon Jackson (Mike Taylor); cherished lifetime friend of the late Jimmy Bass, the late Tom Norris, the late Ernie Shiflett, and Don Warthen; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 on Thursday from 4-6pm where a funeral service will take place at 6pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Sonny’s memory to the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Stella Maris, 2300 Dulaney Valley Rd, Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093.
