She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Carl Walter, daughters Lynn Walter (Gary Anderson), and Janice Gutierrez (Daniel), grandchildren Bryan Gould (Shannon Sturman), Gary Gould, Melissa Hinshaw (Trevor), Derek Gutierrez, and Luke Gutierrez, as well as sisters Olene Foster, Charity Garcia and Norma Langston, and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Eunice, brother Ernest (Buddy), parents Cordelia and JD Veasey, and grandmother Ada Trowell.

Eula Rebecca Veasey was born in Florida on December 11, 1933 and grew up in the Plant City area. After finishing High School she decided on adventure and moved to Washington DC to work for the Department of the Navy as a clerk. There she met her future husband, Carl Walter who was working as an engineer at the Navy department.

Carl and Becky (as he began calling her) married at the Washington Street Methodist Church in Alexandria Virginia in 1953. In 1956, Carl accepted an opportunity with the University of California Lawrence Livermore Laboratory in California and Becky moved even further away from her home, settling in Pleasanton, California. Rebecca loved to travel, often cruising and often revisiting some of her favorite places: Paris, Hawaii, the Panama Canal.

She was a great cook and loved hosting parties. She also loved gardening and could grow just about anything. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and as she watched them grow into fine young adults, teaching them to grow pumpkins and pick blackberries, she continued to love and support them.

She kept her very good friends and dear sisters close for a very long time and they have been angels for her while she dealt with the very serious impacts of her battle with cancer. In her last weeks, she especially enjoyed visits from family and friends, recounting memories of her long and blessed life, listening to her favorite hymns, and watching the hummingbirds play outside her window.
