Rene Myrna Lipinski January 13, 1950 – December 10, 2018 Rene Myrna Lipiniski passed away on December 10, 2018, at Canyon Vista Medical Center, in Sierra Vista, Arizona, and was surrounded by close friends. Rene was born on January 13, 1950 in Loma Linda, California to her parents, Bernard Francis and Della Fontana (Lewis) Lipinski, both deceased, and was a resident of Sierra Vista since 1978. Rene was a dedicated speech and language therapist for over 25 years both in the school system and in private practice.
She started her career in Wilcox, and was hired as a speech therapist by Sierra Vista Public Schools in 1989. She received her Masters Degree in speech Language Pathology from NAU in 1992, and in 1994 she received her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) which is a nationally recognized professional credential representing a level of excellence in Speech-Language Pathology. Rene worked part-time in rehabilitation, but her primary love was children.
Rene really loved her students, and her students love, and her students loved her. The teachers and staff remember her wonderful sense of humor, her generosity, her love of the Halloween holiday, her passion for theater and dedicated and untiring support for the various school plays and events. Rene was born into a theatrical family and she started her acting career at the age of 13.
She was one of the original founding members of the Illegitimate Theater Company in 1987; and in 2014, she was one of the original founders of Theater on the Move, an active theater group based in Sierra Vista that performed shows in Tombstone and Bisbee. She loved acting and took tremendous pleasure directing live theater. in Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca dating back to 1979.
Rene was a 30+ year member of Epsilon Upsilon, a chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and international women’s sorority focusing on life, learning and friendship. She made lifetime friendships with many wonderful people while a member of this special group. Rene loved giving just the right hilarious greeting card to her friends, and was the queen of telling jokes.
She had a larger than life personality. Rene was intensely patriotic and was raised as an “Air Force Brat”. Her favorite duty station was Turkey and she loved the people she met in Turkey.
Rene’s memorial service will be held at Church of Nazarene at 1215 El Camino Real, on the corner of Foothills and El Camino Real on the 13th of January at 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Rene’s favorite charities: St Jude’s Children Hospital; Smile Train; or Best Friends Animal Society. Rene was a terrific lady with a kind and giving heart who leaves behind many friends who loved her dearly. “Take an umbrella, it’s raining; you have a good seat!
