Obituary for Rev. Hugh Fields Rev. Hugh Fields, 88, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday September 12, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Born August 17, 1930 to the late Henry Grady and Carrie Fields, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Rev. Fields served as Dawson County Probate Judge for 16 years.

He was ordained into the Baptist Ministry in 1958 after which he served as pastor of County Line Baptist Church, served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville for 16 years and served as pastor of Goshen Baptist Church for 30 years. Hugh was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and also a member of Etowah Lodge # 222 F & AM for 67 years. Hugh was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Grace Fields.

Surviving are his children, Dennis Fields, Kathy and Mike Arp, Randy Fields and his fiancé Lois Lynch, all of Dawsonville; sister, Yvonne Ledbetter, Dawsonville; grandsons, Ben Fields, Michael Fields, Christoffer Fields, Shannon Arp, Jeremy Fields; great grandchildren, Kayden Arp, Slade Arp, Erica Fields, Nevaeh Fields, Caylee Fields, Jada Fields, Tevin Fields; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held Sunday September 16, 2018 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev.

Russell Burt and Dr. Jim Gaines will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 until 8 at the funeral home.
