He was born January 6, 1945, son of the Benito and Andrea (Alaniz) Muniz. Surviving are his wife, Simona (Alejandro)Muniz, sons, Reyes Muniz, Jr., Rolando Muniz, Ramiro Muniz, Juan Muniz, daughters; Sylvia Trevino, Sonia Montez, Andrea Brandt, brother, Oscar Muniz, sisters, Juanita Cantu, Connie Garza, Martha Muniz, 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 12 at the Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville, TX. Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery, Raymondville, Texas 78580. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Duddlesten Funeral Home, 604 W. Hidalgo Ave.
