Rhonda’s Obituary Rhonda “Jane” Mercer Atkinson, age 80, of Fairmont, NC died on Monday, February 04, 2019 at McLeod Regional Medical in Florence, SC. She was born in Columbus County, NC on January 15, 1939 to the late Wade and Emily McLelland Mercer. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Emily McLelland Mercer; brothers, Richard Mercer and George Mercer; and sister, Ann Stephens. Mrs. Atkinson is survived by her husband, James T. (J.T.) Atkinson of the home; daughters, Donna Walters (Mark) and Melissa Hodge (David) all of Fairmont; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Ed Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow the service in Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont.
