Rhonda P. Lyday, age 64, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, won her fight against uterine cancer on May 5, 2019 at 5:50 A.M. She has now gained her angel wings and has soared to her eternal home in Heaven with our maker.
Rhonda was the loving homemaker who provided the stable environment at home allowing her husband and children to thrive. She accomplished this by making a career of her talent that consisted of making other homes shine for all those who knew and needed her. For 45 years, Rhonda and Fred spent countless hours and miles together touring thru life on the Harley.
Fred, known as “Gas Pedal Fred” was Rhonda’s best friend though she referred to Fred as “Off the road Toad”. They relished their time together riding into the sunset making new memories and sharing old memories with friends often at times around the campfire in the back yard. She was full of jokes, laughter, and her trait of getting in the last remark.
Rhonda had more energy than the family combined. Her happiness came from fishing with the Grandkids, shopping with her daughter, ensuring her son was having a great day, entertaining friends with the best Fried Chicken and Steaks you would ever have. She survived by her husband and soul mate of 45 years Fred “Gas Pedal Fred” Lyday; daughter and sunshine, Stephanie Clark; her very loved and special son, Paul Lyday and daughter-in-law Jalessa; mother-in-law, Norma Jean Lyday; brother, Hank Morrison; sisters, Octa Burgess and Orlanda Bidner; grandchildren, Tyler and Zachary Clark, Raven Morrison, Payge and Eliza Lyday; as well as the loved children she called her own, Misie Coburn, Christy and Jennifer Mulcahy.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Betty Lou Morrison, father-in-law Daniel Lyday, brother Eddie Morrison, grandson Trevor Clark #62, and precious forever loved niece Amy Dawn Palmer. The family wishes to express their gratitude and love for all of those who prayed, visited, and cared for Rhonda with special thanks to her best friend and sister-in-law Joann South, and sister Orlanda who never left her side during the final steps of her Journey. Rhonda will be “Forever Loved and Missed as she was the Center of our Family”.
Rhonda’s motto is based from Psalms 139:14. I will praise thee; for “I am FEARFULLY and Wonderfully Made” The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with service starting at 1:00 P.M. at the Edison Enterprise Baptist Church located at 3055 OH-95, Edison, Ohio 43320 with interment at the Fulton Cemetery. Pastor Ed Colegrove officiating.
In lieu of flowers, consideration of monetary donations to secure a grave marker for Rhonda would be appreciated.
