OBITUARY Ricardo Baldarrama April 12, 1945 – July 15, 2018 Ricardo Baldarrama was born on April 12, 1945 and went home to be with his Lord Jesus on July 15, 2018. He fought the good fight against cancer for 10 ½ years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisca and Ignacio Baldarrama, his brother Ernesto Baldarrama and his step-daughter Debbie Salinas.

Ricardo is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alicia Baldarrama, his daughters, Maggie Martinez (Patrick), Rachel Carrillo (Rick), his son Ricardo Baldarrama (Angie); grandchildren, Matthew, Christian, Samantha, Raul, Jessica, Andrew, Abigail, Nina; great-grandchildren, Bruce and Sophia; step-daughter Deanne Perez, step-son-in-law Lonnie Salinas; step-grandchildren, David, Adrianna, Michael and Matthew. Ricardo attended Edgewood High School and graduated from Southwest Texas State University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.

He retired from civil service at Kelly in April 1999. He worked as a member of the teaching staff at St Phillips College and then began another career at Roy Akers Funeral Home until he became ill. He was a 33rd degree Mason member of Kelly Masonic Lodge #1131, Randolph Masonic Lodge #1268, Scottish Rite and the American Legion.

He was also a member of the Alzafar Shrine Band and the Alamo City Community Marching Band where he played his alto saxophone which he loved to do. Ricardo was a member of the Southeast Camp of the Gideons International and participated in an Extension Action Program to Chile, South America where he was a part of a team that distributed over 250,000 Bibles. In lieu of flowers, a Gideon Memorial Card Rack will be available for those wishing to donate Bibles in his memory or you can donate at gideons.org.

Donations may also be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society at donate. lls.org/lls/donate. Viewing will be at Roy Akers Funeral Home on Monday, July 23 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Service will be at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at Ft Sam Houston on Tuesday, July 24 at 10:15 am. Funeral procession will leave Roy Akers at 9:45 am.
