OBITUARY Richard A. Isbell May 1, 1944 – December 16, 2018 Richard A. Isbell, 74, of Rockford passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his residence. Richard was born on May 1, 1944 in Galena, IL, the son of William and Freda Isbell. Richard was a mail carrier for the United States Post Office for over 30 years in Rockford area.

He was a life time member of NALC Branch #245. Richard was also a member of LLL Club, Navy Club and the Moose Club. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cubs, Bears and NASCAR.

Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Richard is survived by his children: Steven Isbell, Sherri McCrary and David Isbell; grandchildren: Tyler Isbell, Nicole Brown, James McCrary and Brittany Yoder; great-granddaughters: Destiny, Kaelynn and Alivia; former wife Anita Lanning; brother Robert (Donna) Isbell and sister-in-law Jean Isbell. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Marge Isbell, son James Isbell, brother William Isbell and brother-in-law Bob Beetle.

A service to celebrate Richard’s life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; visitation for Richard will be from 1:00 pm until time of service. The family request you wear your favorite sports attire in memory of Richard. Military Honors will be conducted after the service.
