RICHARD’s Obituary Richard A. “Dick” Nelson: 83 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Tuesday May 14, 2019 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. He was born March 10, 1936 in Glidden, WI the son of the late William and Mabel (neé Mathisen) Nelson, living in Chicago, IL before settling in Antioch in 1977. Dick proudly served in the US Army.

Before his retirement in 2004, Dick had worked as an Industrial Mechanic for Eaton Corp and Bakeline Industries for many years. Dick enjoyed: working around the house and yard, helping others, and enjoying the outdoors. On March 5, 1966 he married Darlene Bauer in Chicago, IL.

Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Darlene; three children: Matthew Nelson of Antioch, IL, Michelle Nelson of Antioch, IL, and Melinda (Michael) Logan of West Blocton, AL; two grandchildren: McKenna and Patrick; three siblings: William of Glendale Heights, IL, Karen of Chicago, IL, and Linda of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a brother Robert. Visitation will be held from 10AM until 12 Noon Saturday May 18, 2019 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte.

83) Antioch, IL 60002, with Military Honors commencing at 12 Noon. Interment will be private. Please sign the online guest book for Dick at www.
