STOUGHTON – Richard C. Entwistle, age 78, of Stoughton, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Milestone Senior Living. He was born on July 25, 1939, in Madison, the son of Robert and Helen (Swalheim) Entwistle. Richard graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1957, the UW-Madison School of Engineering in 1963 and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Dayton.

He was a member of the Stoughton Rotary Club and a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop No. 164. Richard was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, serving on the foundation committee as well as serving as the council president.

He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and was selected as the Stoughton Syttende Mai Celebration’s King in 2011, among many other achievements and activities. Richard is survived by his wife; Barbara; daughter, Kari (Craig) Tuecke; two sons, Kevin (Wendy) Entwistle and Kristian (Gina) Entwistle; two grandsons, Kalib and A.J.; granddaughter, Elisabeth; sister, Susie Walls; and a niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Gary Entwistle and Gary Entwistle II.

Funeral services will be held at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 700 Cty. Hwy. B, Stoughton, at 11:05 a.m. (as Dick was never on time for anything), on Monday, July 16, 2018, with Pastor Paula Geister-Jones presiding.

A luncheon with a time for sharing stories will follow at the Stoughton Country Club, 3165 Shadyside Dr., Stoughton. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Hwy. 51 N at Jackson St., Stoughton from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Sunday, July 15, 2018, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

Memorials may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund, Boy Scout Troop No. 164 of Christ Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Block, Dr. Agni, Dr. Herbsman, Heartland Hospice, Bonnie and Molly at the Oregon Senior Center, the Stoughton Rotary Club, everyone at Milestone Senior Living for their wonderful care, Pastors Paula and Scott and all of our family and friends for their prayers and support.
