Richard “Dick” K. Watson, Sr. August 16, 1934 – March 18, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Richard “Dick” K. Watson, Sr. Dick Watson, born August 16, 1934, of Delran, NJ (formerly of Camden) passed on Monday, March 18, 2019. He was 84. Dick was a veteran of the United States Army and a first-class lineman at PSE&G for 40 years.

Outside of spending time with his family and friends, he loved playing baseball, golf, fishing and taking frequent trips to AC. He started his baseball career at Woodrow Wilson High School and continued playing in the Army. Then he played for the Hot Stovers of Camden and switched to softball in his later years.

When he hung up his cleats, he took a swing at golf and you couldn’t keep him off the green. One of his most fulfilling times were spent being “SANTA” to all of his kids in the Holy Innocence of Jesus the Good Shepherd for over 50 years. In addition, he was proud of his family and loved them all.

He was known to many as “The Mayor”, “Pops”, and of course “Pop-Pop”. Dick is survived by; his loving wife of 58 years, Pat Watson; his brother, Bill (Jeanne); his sons, Rick (Julia), Casey (Carol) and his daughter, Denise (George). He was the loving Pop-Pop of Carly (Matt), Cori (Evan), Pam (Ty) and Ash, and BIG Pop to Carter and Riley.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street (River Rd. ), Riverton, NJ 08077 on Friday evening March 22, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday morning March 23, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral mass will follow on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Peter’s Church site, 200 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside, NJ.

Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his memory to the Holy Innocence of Jesus the Good Shepherd, 805 Warren St., Beverly, NJ 08010. Condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.
