Richard “Dick” Nelson, 72, of Rockford, passed away April 28, 2018 in Durand at Medina Manor Nursing Home. Born July 6, 1945 in Rockford; he was the son of Helge and Harriet (Ramsby) Nelson. He married Rosalie Giacomazzo-Bufalo on June 28, 1995 in Rockford.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Dick attended East High School and retired from Ingersoll Machine Tools Inc. after more than 20 years of employment. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helge and Harriet “Ginger” Nelson.

A Celebration of Life for Dick will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at the St. Ambrogio Club, 802 Montague Street, Rockford.
