Richard Edward Shaum, 90, of Rittman, died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at his residence. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Friday at 11am at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www. RobertsFuneralHome.com.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve at 5075 Windfall Rd, Medina, Ohio 44256. Richard was born February 11, 1929 in Overton, Ohio to Orland and Bernice {Howard} Shaum. He graduated from Burbank High School.

Richard served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, and camping. He married Lou Ellen Hitchcock on May 25, 1976.

She passed on June 7, 2011. He retired from PCA after 44 years. Richard was a member of Moose Lodge # 860 and Eagles #2117.

Richard will be deeply missed by his children Jack Denton, Linda Ogden of Wooster, Sherry Stasko of Doylestown, Mark (Darlene) Webner of Phoenix, AZ, Linda (Terry) Harmon of Apple Creek, Vicki (John) Rice of Lodi; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Donald (Janet), Raymond (Esther) and Kenneth (Sandy) Shaum; and sister Lucretia (Tom) Repp. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years and daughter Donna Perry.
